Hailing from Canada, Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo started the MAC (Make up Art Cosmetics) in nineteen eighty
four. This company is a new comer to the make up world. Frank Angelo was the founder and Frank Toskan was the make
up artist and photographer. They both realized women were starting to want make up that was more durable, and made
of ingredients that would not damage the skin and that no animals were used in testing. They help with many
foundations by gathering the old, used and discarded make up. Estee lauder gained the controlling interest in MAC
in nineteen ninety four.
MAC does not advertise to boost their sales. They do not try and talk people into buying make up that they do
not want or like. Their sales come from celebrity endorsements, word of mouth and loyalty of their customers,
passed and present.
MAC makeup brushes are some say, the best that money can buy. But, as in most good quality products there are
fakes. If you actually bought the MAC makeup brushes at the MAC store, it could be a fake. A few ways to tell if it
is the real deal is one, if you see any silver metal on the brush it is a fake. MAC makeup brushes have no metal on
them, they are all black. They do have metal on them, yes, but that is for connecting the brush hairs to the handle
only.
Newer models of the MAC makeup brushes have the logo on the metal part of the brush. If it is anywhere else, it
is most likely a fake. Some of the older ones do have the logo in the center of the handle, so be careful. But it
is highly unlikely to find an old brush around anymore. The bristles on MAC makeup brushes are very dense. The
brush is soft but is densely packed. It is not very easy to bend the bristles to the side, so they keep their
shape. If you can bend the bristles on your brush you have a fake.
The amount you paid for your brush depends on if it is a fake or not. MAC makeup brushes are very expensive.
Most of them start at around twenty dollars apiece and go up. One style of the MAC makeup brushes, the large powder
one can be fifty two dollars.
Always keep your MAC makeup brushes clean, it helps the life of the brushes and will help the makeup go on
better. Turn on the faucet and on warm; dampen the brush under the water. Do not get the handle wet if at all
possible. All you really want to clean are the bristles. Put a very small amount of shampoo in your hand, swirl the
brush into the shampoo, and you should see the makeup color come off. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Once there is
no more color coming out, your MAC makeup brushes are clean. Be sure they are good and dry before using them
again.
